TRAVEL READY NANNY/FAMILY ASSISTANT FOR GLOBALLY MINDED FAMILY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Location: Washington, D.C., 20007

Children: 5-month-old

Compensation: $45-$55/ hr

Schedule: 50 guaranteed hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am-5:30 pm.

Benefits: 4-weeks PTO (two weeks to be scheduled around family travel), paid sick days, paid major holidays, a $500 monthly healthcare stipend, a $1k continuing education stipend, travel stipend, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate for on-the-job travel.

The right candidate is someone who will work in partnership with them as parents to ensure stability for their child and adaptability to changing schedules (Dad is a journalist on a shift pattern that changes every few months). Travel is a significant component of this position. The family travels frequently, often one to two times per month, both domestically and internationally, with travel primarily within the United States and Europe. Travel will increase as the child gets older and the family’s needs evolve. Trips may range from several days to a week at a time. Previous travel nanny or high-level private household experience is strongly preferred. 

Daily Rhythm: 

Responsibilities include all aspects of infant care, including preparing and handling bottles/breastmilk, washing and sterilizing bottles/pump parts, maintaining feeding and sleep schedules, tracking developmental milestones, and supporting healthy sleep habits and routines. The nanny will create developmentally appropriate opportunities for engagement through reading, tummy time, sensory exploration, outdoor experiences, and age-appropriate activities that support the child's growth and development. Additional responsibilities include laundering the child's clothing and linens, maintaining clean and organized nursery and play areas, restocking baby supplies, organizing diapering and feeding stations, and ensuring all child related spaces remain clean, functional, and well maintained. The nanny will also provide regular communication and updates throughout the day, helping parents stay informed and connected while creating a smooth and supportive experience for the entire family. The family may consider expanding their team to a ROTA schedule in the future, so candidates should be comfortable with the possibility of transitioning to a ROTA structure as the family’s needs evolve.

Family assistant duties include supporting the day-to-day flow of the household, including light tidying of shared spaces, running errands, keeping household supplies organized and stocked, assisting with simple meal preparation, supporting household coordination, and pet care (feeding, walking, and letting them out as needed).

Qualifications: 

• 5 years of professional childcare experience
• Recent experience working with infants
• Valid U.S passport and ability to travel both domestically and internationally
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
• Pet-friendly. The family has two miniature Goldendoodles
• Flexible & adaptable to fluctuating schedules
• Swedish or Armenian fluency is a plus
