Engaging, Loving Family Assistant Needed in Sunnyvale

A family in Sunnyvale is seeking an engaging, loving nanny/family assistant to help with household tasks and chilcare for their three children (ages 3, 7 and 9 years old). Responsibilities include driving from school to extra-curriculars, providing homework help, planning fun projects or outings based on the children’s interests, running errands, preparing kid lunches and simple family dinners, light tidying and organization, and family laundry.

Their ideal candidate build rapport with the children and feels like part of the family. Someone playful who genuinely enjoys supporting the household will be the best fit.

The family would like the FA to accompany them for some travel; usually two weeks per year over spring break and Thanksgiving to Hawaii or Mexico. The family takes longer trips during the summer and over Christmas but will guarantee hours when they are gone.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience working as a private nanny/family assistant with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Polish or familiarity with Eastern European culture is a plus!

Qualifications

• COVID-vaccinated and boosted
• TB, Tdap, and Flu
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record with reliable vehicle (sometimes there will be a household car available, but if FA uses their personal vehicle the family will reimburse for gas)
• Building rapport with the kids and parents; feels like part of the family
• Comfortable with parents who work PT from home
• Flexibility to travel over spring break and (ideally) Thanksgiving to Mexico or Hawaii (trips are usually one week)

Responsibilities

• Caring for the children
• Engaging in play, planning fun projects and outings
• Homework help
• General tidying including children’s bedrooms, play areas, common areas, loading/unloading dishwasher, etc.
• Prepare kids’ lunches for school the next day
• Cooking simple meals for the family
• Running errands (returns, grocery shopping, etc.)
• Family laundry
• Traveling with the family (up to 2-3 weeks per year)

Example day schedule:

• 1:00-3:30pm: Laundry, errands, general tidying etc
• 3:30-7:00pm: Light cooking, time with kids
