A warm and busy family in Danville is seeking a thoughtful, organized, and collaborative family assistant to join their household and work alongside the stay at home mom. This is a very involved and collaborative home, and mom is actively engaged with the children. The family is looking for someone who can provide support wherever it is most helpful throughout the day. Their oldest, an 8 year old girl, is fun-loving, active, and loves video games and being with friends. Their 5 year old girl loves her siblings and is always on the go; she also loves art! Their three year old girl wants to follow her big sisters everywhere! She is talkative and loves pretend play. All three girls are active and enjoy outdoor play at nearby parks, swimming in their backyard pool, and riding bikes. Baby boy, born in late May, is happy and social and adores his big sisters. Dad works from home two days a week and is hands-on with the kids when home. Both parents are outgoing and have great senses of humor!

Mornings will typically include helping with one or two children while mom manages elementary and preschool drop-offs, followed by baby care or household support while the three oldest children are at school. The family assistant may care for the baby at times while mom runs errands or goes to appointments; this may include diapering, naptime, walks, and age-appropriate play. Family assistant will pitch in with the older children when they return home from school. Activities such as story time, outdoor play, crafts, imaginative play, and directing the kids in their own age-appropriate chores will be helpful! Transportation to school or activities as needed is required. Often the family car will be available, but should the family assistant ever need to use their own car, there will be mileage reimbursement. The family assistant will rarely, if ever, be responsible for all four children at once. The family has thoughtfully structured the role so that the level of childcare responsibility varies throughout the week.

While childcare is an important part of the position, this family is also looking for someone who genuinely enjoys household support and takes pride in helping a home run smoothly. Responsibilities will include keeping the children's play spaces organized in simple, kid-friendly categories so the children can participate in putting things away. Additionally, managing family laundry will be very supportive! Other everyday tasks are needed such as emptying the dishwasher, taking out the trash, light vacuuming as needed and keeping everyday household supplies stocked. The family would also appreciate someone who can keep an eye on the refrigerator and maintain a running list of what’s running low. This is a home where a proactive person who sees something that needs attention and handles it will be highly valued!

Ensuring the kids have simple and healthy food options is important to these parents. This may include helping mom with easy prep such as hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, muffins, pancakes, smoothies, cut fruit, and setting up simple nutritious breakfasts. Lunch will generally be packed using weekly-prepped foods and leftovers, while dinner support may include preparing side dishes according to the family's weekly plan and keeping track of what needs to be cooked or eaten from the refrigerator. The family is not looking for a chef, just someone who is comfortable helping mom in the kitchen. 

This family lives in a gated neighborhood in Danville in a bright home with ample outdoor space for bike riding and play, as well as a fenced swimming pool. Pool safety is very important to these parents, and anyone near the water requires attentive, eyes-on supervision! Upstairs, the home has a children's play area, the kids' rooms, and a dedicated laundry station that makes keeping up with laundry more manageable. Downstairs is open and filled with natural light! There is a living room, theatre, and a large kitchen with an eat-in space where the family spends much of their time together. They also have a second laundry area downstairs. The home has been thoughtfully arranged around family life and they are looking for someone who will enjoy being part of that environment.

This family has a clear and intentional approach to parenting and is looking for someone who can support their values with warmth and consistency. They believe independent play is a good thing and do not feel the need to rescue children from boredom. All feelings are welcome, while disrespectful or unsafe behavior is not. The children are encouraged to work through conflicts with words and solutions, respect personal space and boundaries, and understand that stop means stop. Physical fighting is stopped immediately, with safety always coming first. Limited screen time is allowed after responsibilities are complete and dinner is eaten. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reinforcing these expectations in a calm and respectful way.
