The Nanny Edit is seeking a warm, dependable, and engaging nanny for a welcoming family of four in Los Alamitos. Their toddler twins are active, curious, and funny, with distinct personalities and a growing love of exploring and climbing!

The family hopes to find an exceptionally kind, sweet-natured nanny who will build a loving connection with both children and become a valued, long-term part of their lives. They offer a relaxed, welcoming home where their nanny will feel appreciated.

    About the Family

Mom works from home in tech recruiting and has a background in music. With a piano and guitars around the house, the family would love someone who enjoys incorporating songs, music, and creative play into the twins’ days. Musical experience is welcome but not required.

Dad owns a local construction business and enjoys fishing and rock climbing. As a family, they love getting outdoors, traveling, and spending time together. Their friendly Labradoodle typically accompanies Dad to work and is generally out of the home during working hours.

The family loves their current nanny and appreciates the nurturing care and engaging routine she provides. She is moving on to another opportunity, and they hope their next nanny will bring similar warmth, initiative, and reliability.

    Childcare Responsibilities

    • Manage the twins’ daily routines, including naps, bottles, meals, and diaper changes.
    • Provide attentive care that supports each child’s personality and developmental needs.
    • Plan age-appropriate play, books, music, and activities that encourage learning and exploration.
    • Take the twins to the park, Gymboree, the library, and other fun, age-appropriate outings.
    • Maintain close supervision as the children become increasingly mobile and adventurous.
    • Communicate openly with the parents and work comfortably alongside a work-from-home mom.
    • Drive the children safely using the family-provided vehicle.
    • Be comfortable swimming and provide attentive supervision around water.
    • Accompany the family on travel, with frequency and arrangements to be discussed.

    Light Household Responsibilities

The family understands that twins can be a handful, and the children always come first. During naps or available downtime, they appreciate help with:

    • Children’s laundry and washing their dishes, bottles, and cups.
    • Cleaning and resetting the kitchen after meals.
    • Keeping common living spaces, the toy/play area, and the children’s room tidy and organized.
    • Cleaning floors as needed in the kitchen, common area, play area, and children’s room.
    • Helping keep the refrigerator and pantry organized.
    • Occasionally unloading and putting away groceries when time allows.
    •

The family does not expect a housekeeper. They appreciate someone who notices reasonable ways to help the household run smoothly when childcare responsibilities allow.

    Ideal Candidate

The ideal nanny has toddler-care experience, preferably with twins or multiple young children, and brings patience, affection, and consistency to each day. They should be comfortable with the physical demands of caring for two active toddlers, including lifting, floor play, and responding quickly to their needs.

The parents value clear boundaries, calm guidance, and age-appropriate consequences as the children grow. They maintain a no-yelling household and seek someone who can uphold expectations with kindness and composure.

    Requirements include:

    • Dependability and an interest in a long-term position.
    • Comfort working in a home with a parent present.
    • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
    • Swimming ability.
    • Willingness to travel with the family.
    • Comfort around dogs.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Legal employment through W-2 payroll.
    • One to two weeks of paid time off, with the final amount to be agreed upon.
    • Paid holidays and sick days.
    • A family-provided vehicle for on-duty driving.
