Job Details
We are seeking on behalf of our client located in the Kenwood area of Minneapolis an experienced Certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to provide dedicated overnight care for their newborn beginning in mid-January. This is an approximately eight-week engagement for a NCS who is confident working independently and providing attentive, knowledgeable care throughout the overnight hours.

This is an awake overnight position. The NCS will remain awake and fully attentive throughout each shift, providing hands-on care and responding promptly to the newborn's needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing attentive, hands-on overnight care for the newborn
• Managing nighttime feeding, bottle preparation, and feeding support
• Washing and properly sterilizing bottles and feeding equipment
• Diapering, soothing, and responding to the baby's needs throughout the night
• Supporting healthy newborn sleep and feeding routines
• Monitoring the baby's patterns and providing thoughtful updates to the parents
• Maintaining a detailed and organized overnight nanny log documenting feedings, diaper changes, sleep, and other relevant observations
• Caring for the baby's laundry, including washing, folding, and organizing clothing, linens, and other newborn items
• Maintaining an organized nursery and ensuring newborn supplies are clean, organized, and well stocked
• Working collaboratively with the parents and daytime Nanny to provide consistency of care

Requirements

• Newborn Care Specialist Certification - Required
• Infant CPR and First Aid certification
• Extensive professional newborn experience, including overnight experience
• Strong understanding of newborn development, feeding, sleep, and soothing techniques
• Calm, nurturing, and confident presence
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Excellent professional references
• Local Minneapolis/St. Paul candidates preferred
