EASYGOING AND FLEXIBLE FAMILY ASSISTANT/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER NEEDED FOR FAMILY IN SOLON, OH

Location: Solon, OH, 44139

Children: 14-year-old & 11-year-old

Compensation: $35-$40/hr

Schedule: 40 hrs/week. Flexibility is appreciated. See description for more details.

Inside Their World: 

A spontaneous and loving dual physician household is looking for an easygoing and adaptable family assistant/household manager to take charge of the home, maintain order and organization and support the routines of their older, self-sufficient children.

Their 14-year-old is an imaginative and bright high schooler. He’s into Dungeons & Dragons, building models, and playing board games. Their 11-year-old daughter is fun loving, independent, and creative. She enjoys all sorts of arts and crafts, painting, and reading.  

Both kids would thrive with a candidate who is bubbly and go-with-the-flow, and has a calm, low stress personality.

Family Environment: 

Mom and dad describe themselves as open minded, spontaneous, and nurturing. This is a dual physician household and both parents have extremely busy schedules with shifting needs, which is why someone highly flexible and adaptable would thrive here. They  prioritize a household built on steadiness, low stress, and support, and value organization, initiative, and reliability. As for their parenting style, it is better described as encouraging and supportive, paired with clear boundaries. The family loves playing board games and traveling together.  Their Bichon Frisé  is a beloved part of the family and very important to the children. They are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dogs and will love having theirs around as much as the kids do. They are loving, intentional parents who encourage a supportive, laid back and warm family life.

The general schedule will be Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Flexibility is needed to accommodate the remaining 5 hours based on the family’s needs, including starting at 7:00 am twice a month. During the summer when the kids are off school, the hours will shift to 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Daily Rhythm: 

You will be in charge of ensuring the home runs smoothly, and helping the family as needed and assisting with older kids’ after school routine. Responsibilities include school pick ups/drop offs, transportation to and from activities, planning fun educational outings, homework assistance, and preparing meals and snacks for the kids. The role also involves general tidying up and organization, doing dishes daily and ensuring the kitchen is clean and organized, laundry, ordering household goods to ensure the family is fully stocked, vendor scheduling, and errand running, among other things. The nanny will also help care for the family dog, as needed, incorporating her into the family’s daily routine.

Qualifications: 

• 3 years of professional household management experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Clean driving record & ability to pass a background check
• Pet-friendly. The family has an adored Bichon Frisé
