Inside Their World:
A welcoming and loving family is seeking an outgoing, compassionate, and skilled nanny/ family assistant to support their 7-year-old and 3-year-old daughters, while providing attentive care around the home.
Their 7-year-old daughter is imaginative and talkative and loves positive attention from those around her. She enjoys drawing, writing, outdoor play, and having someone who is genuinely interested in what she has to say. As a child on the autism spectrum, she benefits from a patient, flexible approach and thoughtful support with emotional regulation. Experience navigating big feelings is especially important for this role.
Their youngest daughter is a joyful, curious, and eager to explore 3-year-old. She loves going to the playground, building with Magna-Tiles, and discovering new things. While she attends daycare full-time, the nanny will occasionally care for her when daycare is closed or if she is sick.
While the primary focus will be caring for their older daughter, the nanny should feel comfortable caring for both children together when needed, including during holiday breaks or sick days.
Family Environment:
Mom and Dad prioritize a welcoming and affectionate household where their daughters feel loved and free to explore their interests. They take a flexible approach to parenting while maintaining routines around mornings, family dinners, and bedtime. They appreciate a nanny who can bring bright energy and an intuitive approach to the home while encouraging the girls’ growth and independence.
Learning and exploration are a big part of family life. The family enjoys board games, spending time outdoors, listening to music, reading together, and engaging in creative activities and outings in the community. A nanny who shares their enthusiasm for learning through play and exploring new experiences will do well in this home.
Both parents work in and out of the home, and they value a nanny who uses good judgment and takes initiative throughout the day. They appreciate someone who is decisive, can anticipate the needs of the children and household, and manage responsibilities independently.
The parents also value an individualized, compassionate approach to supporting children on the autism spectrum. They hope to find a nanny who can use positive reinforcement, including strategies such as a reward jar, to encourage desired behaviors, foster independence, and support the girls’ social and emotional development.
Who Thrives Here:
This role calls for a warm, compassionate professional who’s highly experienced and can confidently respond to each child’s needs while remaining calm in their approach. Someone who enjoys bringing their own ideas to life will thrive in this role. The family is looking for someone who takes initiative in creating engaging activities, establishing and maintaining chore and reward systems, and helping the children build independence and follow through with responsibilities. The ideal candidate is mature and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to set and maintain gentle but firm boundaries while keeping the children on their routines. Flexibility, adaptability, and reliability are also key, as this hybrid position may require accommodating minor changes in schedule, switching between childcare for one and two children, as needed, and handling household tasks. The ideal candidate brings patience to conversations and creativity to activities while supporting emotional regulation and navigating transitions. They foster a positive environment where the children feel comfortable expressing their feelings, exploring their imaginations, and growing in confidence and independence.
The family would also appreciate someone who communicates openly and effectively and welcomes the opportunity to share advice and suggestions.
Daily Rhythm: The nanny will take ownership of the children’s daily care and routines, providing warm, attentive, and engaging support. Responsibilities include safe driving from school and to local activities, planning creative, age-appropriate activities, arranging outings and playdates, and preparing simple meals and snacks for the children. The nanny will also manage the children’s laundry, keep their bedrooms, play areas, and shared spaces organized.
This Nanny/ Family Assistant role balances attentive childcare with light household support to help the family’s days run smoothly. Before school pickup or during appropriate downtime, additional duties will include loading and unloading the dishwasher, taking out the trash, getting prepared meals heated and ready to serve, cleaning up after mealtimes, and helping maintain an overall tidy and organized home. This family values someone who can anticipate household needs while keeping the children’s care a priority.
