Inside Their World:

A welcoming, busy family is seeking a nurturing and trustworthy nanny/family assistant to grow with their family long term, care for their 6 year old daughter, and help maintain a tidy, organized home.

Their daughter is a sweet, happy, and kind-hearted girl who is almost 6 years old. She is a bright, talkative, and confident girl who loves to stay active and spend time with family and friends. Her after school activities include dance, gymnastics, tennis, bible study and swimming. She is currently developing her reading skills and enjoys all things princesses, dressing up, painting, coloring, arts and crafts, holiday decor,  and imaginative play.

Family Environment:

Mom and Dad lead their family with warmth and love, and aim to foster a safe environment where their daughter feels seen, respected, and valued, and is encouraged to express herself confidently. They seek to raise her as a kind and responsible young girl who respects others, follows rules, and takes ownership of her daily responsibilities and chores.

Both parents work from home and are very involved in their daughter’s life. With demanding schedules, they value a well organized household and a caregiver who can anticipate needs, take initiative, and manage responsibilities independently. They appreciate someone who is honest, adaptable, and personable, with confidence communicating and working with a direct, straightforward family.  As a family, they enjoy spending their summers playing golf, exercising, cooking, and gardening together.

Travel is a very important part of this family's life, with Idaho being their go to destination for skiing and snowboarding. The family travels throughout the year, and the candidate will be expected to travel with them, including spending July and August in Idaho and joining the family for a three-week trip in the winter. Trips may range from several days to a few weeks at a time, so previous experience traveling with a family is a plus. The family has a 2-week trip planned in early January, and the candidate will be required to join them.

Who Thrives Here:

This is a bustling home, and the family is looking for someone who is experienced, dependable, and proactive, and who takes pride in making everyday life run smoothly. Building a close, loving, and trusting relationship with their daughter is important, while also encouraging her independence, confidence, good manners, and age-appropriate responsibilities. Someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate the family’s needs will thrive in this role, taking initiative with household responsibilities and staying on top of upcoming appointments and activities. A candidate who communicates openly and feels confident managing their responsibilities independently will be a wonderful fit for this family.

The parents gravitate toward nurturing, transparent, and thoughtful individuals who bring a warm, engaging personality to their home. Someone who enjoys creating fun, age-appropriate experiences for their daughter while remaining adaptable, emotionally mature, and comfortable navigating changing schedules and needs will thrive in this role.

On the family assistant side, they value someone who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and organized, with a natural “see a need, fill a need” mentality. A candidate who takes initiative, stays a step ahead, and enjoys helping keep a busy household running smoothly will be a great fit. Lastly, due to the family’s frequent travel needs, the ideal candidate will be comfortable travelling with them and spending time away from home.

Schedule
Flexibility is an important part of this role. While the role guarantees 32 hours per week, some weeks will require additional hours. The general initial schedule will be from Monday to Thursday from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and  Friday, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Schedule changes will be communicated in advance whenever possible. Occasional schedule variations may include:

  • Earlier mornings or later evenings
  • Three guaranteed overnight shifts per month
  • Domestic travel with the family
  • Optional weekend hours

Daily Rhythm:

The nanny will build a close, loving, and trusting relationship with their daughter while encouraging her independence, good manners, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities include supporting her daily routines, preparing snacks and meals, providing homework and reading support, and handling transportation to and from school, extracurricular activities, appointments, and playdates as needed. The nanny will also help manage her activity calendar, coordinate appointments and social engagements, keep track of school events and registrations, and maintain her child’s common spaces organized. Additional responsibilities may include supporting evening routines, preparing for trips, and helping maintain consistency when the parents travel.

During school hours, the role will shift toward family assistant responsibilities, helping keep the household organized and running smoothly. Duties may include grocery shopping, household errands, handling returns, meal preparation, doing laundry, keeping household essentials stocked, coordinating household appointments, and preparing the home for family travel. The family employs a professional house cleaner, and deep cleaning is not part of this role.
